boston bun is back for 2015 with just for freaks, which is part 1 of a series of three eps dedicated to unrestrained underground clubbing. just for freaks 1 stays in the chicago house revival that boston bun established these past 2 years. the right balance between deep and ghetto music. a-side pleasure is a track that you can play very late in the darkest clubs. it drives us with unpitched voices and unleashed tr which succeed to a cut-up bass. b-side levitate flirts with lovely strummed music, almost nostalgic, interrupted by an harmonious and bouncy bassline. the lyric *you wanna play house some more?* sounds like the anthem of a neverending party. the vinyl ep includes a download code.

radio bands radio rap the one and only single by a group of djs from the radio fantasy pirate station has long been an in-demand gem with italo-disco diggers and balearic heads alike. with original copies both hard to find and expensive (currently hovering around the l60 mark online), it s great to see archeo recordings giving the 1984 cut a much-needed reissue on heavyweight vinyl. the quirky vocal version a loose and funky disco-rap record with additional boogie synths and all italian vocals is accompanied by the superb instrumental version, which perfectly showcases danilo ciarchi s superb production.

christian viers is fast becoming a prominent name on uk underground house and techno circuits, either as part of lazlo dancehall alongside leon vynehall or his long running a1 bassline project. techno-focused releases on his own label, source unknown captured the attention of the ears behind the newly formed fina white resulting in the bad timing ep, which the label state is a strikingly clear indication of the distinctive direction they plan to take moving forward. title track bad timing is a straight up techno banger whose menacingly melodic low-end tones, relentless thump and rolling toms are the driving force behind its robust and looming groove. without time is a similarly complex percussive cut, but with its jungle inspired arabic horns, trancey synth-lead breakdowns and acid squelches, whilst uk house veteran nail offers a more direct 4/4 take on the track with his typically classy remix.

six months after their last installment, shir khan and exploited drop another hot to trot collection of disco edits. as usual, there is much to excite, beginning with the familiar guitar solos, rhodes keys and dub disco pulse of antilopes *singing ghost* rework. death on the balcony keep up the reverb and delay-laden dub disco theme on *addict for your love*, whose rubbery groove, twinkling pianos and heady vocals have been expertly rearranged to fit house dancefloors. finally, matpat go loop crazy on the thumping disco house cut *only you* which sits somewhere between rahaan and soundstream. excellent stuff all round.
